Belenes in Spain

Today I'm going to talk about Belenes, specially about the figures it's composed.

In Belenes you can find a lot of different kinds of figures. The most popular ones are the baby Jesus, Joseph and Virgin Maria. Then you can include the peasants, a river... In some places it's popular to have the caganet, that is a person pooping near a tree.

In other ones you can see people moving becuase they're actually part of it! It's a "Belen Viviente", and you can see them in schools at the end of the course.

In conculsion, if you are in Spain in Christmas, one of the most interesting things is to see them!

Thanksgiving day

Today I am going to talk about something very important to me, my parents, my memories and my lifestyle.

 

First of all, I would like to talk about my lifestyle. I can certainly say that i'm very lucky to have all the things I have, such as a mobile phone, a house or clothes. And I can say too that all this is connected to my lifestyle, because without them, I would be really different. For example, if I want to meet my friends, I just send a whatssap and that's it.

 

And I must say that my father has had a really important character for all this could be possible. My father is an example to follow. You know, when my mother died, he continued his life without leaving us with our grandparents, the most logical idea, and every day of his life he is getting by and I admire it a lot. I don't know what would happen if something bad happens to my dad.

 

Anyway, I've actually got a lot of good memories of all the things I have shared with my father and my friends. Funny ones, sad ones, learning ones... and they are all in mu head, going round and round and making me fell really happy, because, like my music or my clothes, they make me be what I am, and I won't change nothing.

 

So, if I have to say thanks to someone, it would be, without any doubt, my father.

Song project: Homecoming. Comments about the photos

This is Chicago city; it is in the centre of the United States, on the south east coast of the Michigan Lake. It is in the state of Illinois. The connection to the song is that the singer was bred in that city and in the songs he says he wants to return to that city because there he met a girl when she was young.

In this picture we can see a boy and a girl holding their hands. They have just met each other and from that moment, they fell in love. I think that this image is really romantic because since people are young they can feel the same as old people.

The photo is spontaneus and natural. The relationship between the photo and the song is that the man is Kanye West (the author of the song) and the girl is the woman that he knew when he was little.

In this picture we can see a girl and a boy hugging each other. They’re at a train station, so maybe they are saying good bye, or they can be meeting again. As the song says, it’s always a pleasure to come back home, and meet your people.

They are fireworks at the Lake Michigan, the singer repeat at the last verses that maybe the girl remember them. 

Interview: Jose Manuel Olmedo Gamero

Hello followers!!

Here we are with my father Jose Manuel Olmedo Gamero, that is a national athletics coach and a pharmacist.

1. Who have you trained?

Well... I have trained some important people such as Jose Luis Cardoso, who was in the moto gp or Soledad Becerril, who was Seville's president. 

2. How did you obtain the title of the person who creates the menus in the atlethics world championship in the 1999´s?

 There were some factors that influde. First of all, I worked in Virgen del Rocío looking if the food was good, I was an expert in alimentation and I was a member of the Andalusian Federation of Atlethics and the vice-president of the Seville Federation of Atlethics.

3. Why did you choose pharmacist and not another profession?

Because this was the profession that has the highest number of subjects I liked.

4. In what are you working nowadays?

I am the responsable of the kitchen, the cleaning, the laundry and the lingerie of the Hospital Puerta del Mar.

5. And the last question is... If you have to summarise your carrear in one sentence, what would it be?

Olimpic Sports

Badminton is a sport played with a ball, called “shuttlecock” or “birdie”.

It can be played by two players one each other (singles), or by four players two vs. two (doubles). The players of a team must hit the birdie with a special badminton racquet (which is lighter than others) and pass it to the other part of the court, which is separated by a net. The person or team that fails the pass looses the point. Each game is played to 21 points. A match is the best of three games.

The contestants of Spain in badminton are two: Pablo Abián playing for male category, and Joana Martinez playing for female category. 

Handball is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outfield players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball to throw it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team with the most goals scored wins.The field is like this:

The Spanish handball teamhas won the world handball championship once (in 2005), in the Olimpic Games they've got bronze medal three times (1996, 2000 and 2008)and in the european handball championship they've got silver medal three times (1996, 1998 and 2006). They have also cualified for London's 2012 Olimpic Games and they are going to do it very well.

Waterpolo is a team sport that is performance in the pool. It's really similar to handball and in this sport the players have to pass the ball and try to throw it into the net from the rivals. The team that gets more scores wins.

Trampolin is a sport created in 1936 by the american George Nissen. This sport consist of jump off a trampolin at 1 or 3 meters over the water, where the athlete will have to fall stylishly pirouetting and impact to water. After, some juries choose your mark.

The spanish representatives are Javier Illana in men´s team, Leyre Eizaguirre, Jennifer Benitez and Claudia Prat in the women´s team

Triathlon came up as a bet between athletes to see which of them was the best one: a swimmer, a biker or a runner. Some people say it was originally created in France, where they called it Les Trois Sports (The three sports).  It is a sport made up of 3 different ones. In its most popular version, those sports are swimming, cycling and running.  In this events, different athletes have to compete between them to see who is the fastest and better one. They start with swimming, continue with cycling and finish up with running. Triathlon is an Olympic sport since the Sydney Games in 2000. The spanish representatives in triathlon for the London Games are Javier Gómez Noya, Mario Mola, José Miguel Pérez, Ainhoa Murua, Zuriñe Rodríguez and Marina Damlaimcourt.

Pentatlon came from Greece and nowadays it's an Olimpic Game. It's divided into 4 different disciplines, that are shooting, fencing, swimming and jumping with a horse.

Waterpolo

Waterpolo is a really interesting sport but... who invented that amazing sport?

Well... Try to imagine... Two hundreds years ago, Great Britain, and someone thought, why don't we sit in these barrels and we hit the ball with those mallets? And because of this, waterpolo started. And in 1877, William Wilson, a really gorgeous man (we don't really know if he was gorgeous or not, but we write it) created the rules of that strange game and most of them are actually international rules!! GOOD FOR WILLIAM!!

Soon, American and European people started being yellows and they made it popular in their own countries (and nowadays, European people are one of the best all over the world (YEAH!!))

It's an Olimpic Game (not like karate) and the first time it was celebrated was in 1900.

The Turkey Corner

Welcome to my blog! Today, we are going to talk about a really nice repice, a kebab! And, to talk about it, we have created a program called... The Turkey Corner!!

Well, now I am going to comment some things that are not in the video.

One of them is how the kitchen was after cooking. It was... well... it wasn't as clean as I remember... When they left the house, I had to clean it all!! My partners say that it wasn't dirty... Don't trust them!!

Another one is the outtakes. Like Miguel, for example, that said "frigo" instead of "fridge", or when Blanca didn't cover the cook machina... If Miguel wasn't be fast... I wouldn't be here.

I think that's all. In my opinion, I think that the work was awesome and we didn't discuss nothing at all.

Problems with your brother??

This is usually normal. I´ve got a brother, and he´s really annoying. It´s because he is the smallest one and my father is normally protecting him... And he always get the things he wants to!!! Perhaps you have the same problem as me, and there are some tips to try to be in a good way with him.

One of the tips is to try to have a good relationship with him, telling him that you won´t say nothing he does bad to my father and viceversa. If you are exhausted and you can´t hold the truth more (and I understand) you can explain to your parents the problems you usually have and try to catch him inardventenly and show your parents you were telling the truth. 

And I think that´s all. If you want another tips, you can comment on it and I will write the solutions out.

Historia real de Sadako Sasaki

Cuando la bomba nuclear explotó en Hiroshima, ningún estadounidense pensó en las consecuencias que este acto traería. ¡Miles y miles de personas murieron tras esta catástrofe y más aún sufrieron las consecuencias meses después! 

Uno de estos ejemplos es el caso de Sadako Sasaki. A ella la bomba atómica le pilló dentro de su casa y, aparentemente, no sufrió daño alguno. Pero, al pasar los meses, le empezaron a salir unos lunares púrpuras y le diarnosticaron leucemia y un máximo de un mes de vida. 

Ella, desesperada, se aferró a una antigua leyenda japonesa, que decía que si hacías 1000 grullas de papel los dioses le concedería un deseo. Pero, pese a su esfuerzo, sólo pudo conseguir hacer 644 y, en agosto de 1955, murió. Su pareja terminó las grullas de papel que le faltaban y las incineró todas con ella.
